Show Notes:

Many issues today seem as though they don’t have worldly solutions. However, when you equip yourself with the knowledge of the word of God, you no longer have to parent from a place of fear, regardless of what is happening in the world around you.

Fear is not your friend, no matter how it masks itself, and like a magnet, fear attracts more fear! If you’re fearful, you’re more likely to draw things of fear into your life. Instead,  find rest in knowing that living within the will of God for your life and your children’s lives brings peace and protection.

As a parent, the best way to protect your child is to steward them into their destiny and into God’s plan, path, and will for their lives. You can’t let your fear impose in a way that takes them out of the will of God and the plan He has for them. Did you know that by doing so, you can actually redirect their paths? Be like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3–don’t let fear intimidate you!

When discerning fear from God’s will always remember, fear never leads; it always drives. Fear will often manifest itself as the feeling of needing to control a person or situation. God, on the other hand, will never fill you with fear in an attempt to lead you; He directs us with a still, small voice (1 Kings 19:12-13). Fear isn’t a new tactic! The enemy has used fear since the beginning of time.

Ask yourself if there are areas in your life where you are letting fear guide your decision-making for your children. You can follow three steps to replace fear-based parenting with parenting based on faith.

  1. Consciously and continually choose faith over fear.

  2. Pray declarations over your children, doing your part to pray and commit them to God.

  3. Be wise and pray over every decision.

God has called your children to their generation for a reason; for such a time as this (Esther 4:14). There is grace and power upon your children. Even through adversity, God is working in their lives. He created them for what is to come, so shift the “what if” mentality to “even if,” and rest in the peace of God, knowing He is in control!
