Join Pastor Joie for her powerful interview with Pastor Kimberly Jones– better known as Real Talk Kim–Pastor of Limitless church in Atlanta, Georgia, and author of many amazing books including her newest release, You Gotta Get Up. Together they share perspective shifts and lifestyle changes that when consistently implemented, can breathe life back into our spirits and guide us to wholeness and healing.
The more whole you are –the more joy and peace you will have! Pastor Kim is a living testament to this statement and her book unveils her story of the point in her life when she stopped only preaching about a victorious life, but really started walking in one! Though she appears to be aging backward (you go, girl!), she exclaimed, “This is what healing looks like!” Pastor Kim reminds us through Jesus Christ, that no matter what life has sent your way–there is a moment when you have to keep getting back up.
“As long as you have a pulse, God has a plan.”
Giving up was not an option. In 2020, Pastor Kim realized that if she was ever going to break out of the same cycle and live a victorious life, she had to face herself; she had to mourn and move! There comes a time when you have to ask yourself, are you going to stay down or take personal responsibility for your life? “When you’re in the flesh trying to make things happen, it won’t happen,” Pastor Kim recounted.
It’s so easy to go back to what is familiar, giving CPR to dead situations, trying to stabilize what God is trying to take you from–Pastor Kim discussed, but be reminded, it’s a season, not a sentence.
“...He has given us all the grace, and all the power, formed us–He knew it all! He has put everything on the inside of us to get up and take back everything the enemy has taken from us. Get up, walk, and demand restitution–a sevenfold blessing of what was lost.”
“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” GOD’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!” Amos 9: 13-15
Pastors Joie and Kim used the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda (Mark 5) to illustrate how easy it is to merely go back to what is familiar or to wait around for someone else to “save us.” Make a decision that you are ready to get back up, get whole, and not let life define you.
Pastor Kim’s Top 3 Tips To Rewriting Your Narrative & Getting Back Up!
Be intentional! Look at what keeps taking you back to those unhealthy cycles, make a commitment to change, and do it for 30 days. Choose to work with God and see your life transform.
Stop bleeding on people who did not cut you! Before you spout off the first thing that comes to mind, take a pause. Don’t make permanent decisions on temporary emotions. Monitor your mouth–don’t say what you see.
Keep getting back up…if you fall and go back to the old way, you have 3 seconds to get up and change your thinking, then thank God, and get your mind off of what is trying to guilt you to stay. Get so whole, that nothing can penetrate your peace.
We all go through different seasons in life that can knock us down and make us feel stuck–divorce, sickness, bad decisions, sin, the routine of everyday life–You Gotta Get Up is a message for any woman from any walk of life and is available for purchase online, in bookstores, and on audio!
