Show Notes:

We all know you cannot change the past, but you can change the perspective from which you see your past, present, and future–shifting your narrative! While the enemy wants to take your life and everything God wants to make beautiful and good in it, God is the author and perfector of your faith (Hebrews 12:2); He holds the pen. Not one sentence or season is written by the enemy, and there’s not one circumstance that God won’t redeem, revive, and restore!

Join the ranks of whom God has chosen to use. In the Bible, Joseph went from hardship to hardship, but he let God refine him in the midst of the narrative. You serve an intentional God who orders your steps and directs your path (Psalm 37:23).

As you move forward in God’s plans for your life, write down, insert your name, and meditate on the following points. Friend, as you do, you will begin to replace old names and labels of the past, and embrace the labels God assigns to you - labels like "beloved," "chosen," "redeemed," and "fearfully and wonderfully made!"

Personal Point #1 - Hello my name is…and I will own the season that I am in!

You can't make the seasons of your life change any more than you can stop the seasonal changes of nature. The question is: are you going to resist or own the season that you’re in? When owning your season, remember…

  • Don’t make permanent mindsets out of temporary seasons!

  • Perspective offers lots of gifts. One is that seasons are temporary– “this too shall pass.”

  • You don’t know when the season is going to change or even end. Allow yourself to be present, don’t live in fear, embrace the now, and enjoy the benefits of the season.

  • If you’re stuck in your season you will never progress–own and give the season to God. Don’t be miserable or wish it away, instead pray God blesses the season you’re in.

Personal Point #2 - Hello my name is…and I will bloom where I’m planted!

When you have the right perspective you enjoy the now! If you are waiting for circumstances to change to embrace joy, you’re missing out on the joy that’s in the journey. Though you may be in a season of waiting…

  • Decide that you don’t have to wait for what’s next. You can find things to do in your season today!

  • Remember that God doesn’t waste seasons. Sometimes our dreams start in seed form before they are on full display. Trust God with the process.

Personal Point #3- Hello my name is…and I am enough!

When you understand that you’re enough, you stop trying to get your validation and justification from anything other than God.

  • Ephesians 2:10 states that you are God’s masterpiece–specifically created with a purpose!

  • You are loved by God, and that’s enough.

Personal Point #4- Hello my name is…and God uses it all!

If you’re not careful, you can use what happens to you as a reason to make excuses to live as a victim. When you’re tempted to make excuses or begin feeling like a victim, remember…

  • Pain might not be your fault, but the responsibility to heal is up to you. Let it compel you to change.

  • God uses it all as a part of the plan He has for your life.

  • Be encouraged that though God didn’t ordain your pain, He will use it.

  • Ask yourself, would you rather be whole and healed or the victim in your story?

The enemy likes to skew your perspective and make you feel as though you’re drowning in a pit you were never meant to swim in. When you resign your story to Jesus Christ, He will make you the best version of yourself. He is a redeemer, and He is a restorer. Let God define you and rewrite your story; He will make it so fruitful that you can’t help but forget the bad.
