SHOW NOTES:

Grit is defined as strength of character–it’s courage, resolve, endurance, perseverance, and resilience. Grit is passion and hard work. Grit is one of the main ingredients for success in any area of life. It’s growth, resolving not to quit, inspecting the voices that influence you, and taking time to reflect.

Having grit–tenacity in your life–will sustain you for the long haul. It’s necessary to accomplish more than you could ever dream. The enemy is counting on you to get bored, discouraged, and tired on your path to the promise; he is counting on you to quit, but if you have grit, God can endow you with a passion and perseverance that won’t fizzle out. Apply grit to whatever season you’re in, and don’t grow weary in doing good.

Grit is…

G- Growth

We’ve all been around someone who seems to have no quit in them. Practice seems to be their middle name–practice, practice, and practice some more. Grit reflects growth. If you want to have grit, simply keep doing the same thing out of obedience to the last instruction God gave you; keep doing what you’re doing!

Growing in grit means being obedient, day in and day out. Pray, read, and study–make yourself an option to see the progressive growth of the fruit God has called you to produce.

R- Resolving not to quit

Make a predetermined decision not to quit! That means you cannot quit even when times get tough or when what you’re seeing doesn’t align with what you’re sowing. Your feelings will always justify you to give in but be led by your spirit, not your feelings.

The enemy will always give you an excuse to quit, so resolve to remain steadfast!

I- inspect the voices that are influencing you

The voices around you matter. Ask yourself whether the voices you’re allowing into your heart and your mind reflect the grit you want to exude or do they support mediocrity. Silence the enemy, silence self-doubt, and silence family or friends who discourage you from your dreams.

T- take time to reflect every day

Grit can make you weary, so it’s healthy to reflect and thank God for where He’s brought you from and where He’s taking you. Even a few minutes of gratitude a day is like a jolt of energy to help you withstand what’s ahead.

Friend, grit don’t quit. Activate your grit and you will find strength and perseverance on the journey toward your promise.
