The word becoming defined means to grow into something, to change, or to experience a metamorphosis. There is a process to becoming and growing into the person you are called to be. Every promise is an invitation to a process, and you have to grow into where you want to go! If you’ve ever felt like you have so much more to go in your becoming, this podcast is for you.

On the path to becoming, there is no fictional line that we will cross over that signals an end to the journey. That’s not how the kingdom of God works. If we are going to grow in Christ, there is a continual putting away and putting on in the becoming process. In doing this, you are becoming renewed in the knowledge of your Creator. In putting away the old self, you’re becoming transformed more and more like Jesus, growing into your destiny. 

God isn’t worried about you cleaning yourself up before you come to Him; He wants you to come to Him so that He can clean you up.  Sometimes, we fool ourselves into thinking we are in a growing or becoming state–we feel ready, but God is saying “not yet.” Trust that He is doing a work in you so He can fully work through you. Some of the old stuff may still need to come off so we can learn to walk in the new. God is sovereign; He knows better than you do. It’s in the difficult moments that reveal where we are in the becoming process. God is so gracious that He will not expose us to our destiny at the improper time.

If you want to get closer to your destiny, don’t revert even when you feel you can’t get it right in your own strength. Instead, immerse yourself in Jesus and everything He has for you. Keep becoming and growing in the things of God, yielding to Him. Challenge yourself every day to identify the areas you need to keep becoming in. As you continue to become more like Christ, watch as your destiny unfolds in front of you.
