What part of your life do you find yourself overwhelmed or frustrated with? What do you wish would change? Whatever the case may be, it’s time to awaken the authority God has given you over the things in life that are holding you back. Friend, it’s time for a revival of responsibility.
When you choose to partner with God, you step into a realm of anointing to set things straight. The story of Deborah. “Mother of Israel,” found in Judges 4-5 demonstrates the responsibility we have to transform our circumstances when they no longer align with God’s plan for our lives.
Scripture tells us that Deborah was the only female judge named in the Bible, she prophesied over Israel, and she took action. Deborah set things in order, knew the power of her words, and got things done! She was well aware of the authority she had with God and wasted no time operating in it.
Study the story of Deborah, and reflect on the following reminders on your path of reviving the responsibility you carry over your life.
Point 1 - No one is coming to rescue you; have faith and keep going.
Have you ever noticed there sometimes comes a point in our spiritual walk when we feel there is no other place to turn other than back? Don’t let the fear, discouragement, or lies of the enemy keep you out of a place of victory. Victory is yours, so stand in the position of authority as a woman of God and keep going.
Point 2 - The enemy will try to keep you paralyzed in fear from reaching what is yours. Rebuke his lies.
The enemy doesn’t play nice. He wants to terrorize and intimidate you, but take your rightful place and speak out against his tactics. Don’t allow fear to hold you back from pursuing the plans, purposes, and places God has called you. There has to be a breaking point where you say “Enough is enough!” Be determined to rid your vocabulary of “what if,” and replace it with “even if.”
No matter what comes against you, the God you serve will not only cause you to get through, but He will turn all things around for good (Romans 8:28).
Point 3 - The enemy will try to keep you quiet or shut you up. Speak life into every one of your circumstances.
Like Deborah, learn to prophesy! Don’t let natural circumstances dictate your life, instead, use your mouth to change what you see. The power of life and death are in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). We are either bringing an amen to God’s plan or the enemy’s. The enemy is already a defeated foe. Apply the word to the attacks of the enemy and eventually, he will fall. It’s just a matter of how much you are willing to take before you use your voice to speak life over your household, relationships, health, marriage, finances, and more!
Faith sees and knows in advance. As you move, the miracle is in play. The Lord goes out before you (Judges 4: 14). Like Deborah, tell the enemy, “Not in my tent and not on my territory. “ As you begin to revive the responsibility you carry as a woman of God, watch as God does what only He can do. Don’t try to figure it all out, have faith, set things in order, prophesy, and take action today.
