SHOW NOTES:

Life can be messy, but some of God’s finest work happens in the middle of a mess. Just because a situation may be messy doesn’t mean God is not working a miracle for your good! The messiness doesn’t define or change your God.

To apply this truth to our own life, look no further than the mess Paul found himself in Acts 27 during his stop on the shores of Malta through his journey to Rome.

Paul was in a position where he believed God to take him to Rome. It was a promise he was waiting to be fulfilled for a long while. However, when God gave him the sign that it was time to travel, the circumstances looked less than ideal! The weather was against them and quite dangerous for traveling. Paul’s voyage would undoubtedly be difficult. Regardless, Paul chose to be obedient to God and follow His instruction. Can you relate? Have you ever felt that your time and God’s weren’t aligning? Ironically, God’s timing sometimes feels like the worst timing. It’s often the times that we least expect or feel least prepared that God calls us to fulfill the promise and walk in what He has called us to. It’s a good reminder of the sovereignty of God, that He is in control and we are not!

Remember, we live in a fallen world. There will be things in life that make it messy, but when we stay in faith we will overcome the mess to make it to the miracle. When He speaks a promise to you, go into it with the mindset that it may get messy, but that doesn’t mean a miracle isn’t on the other side.

There’s no better place to be than in the middle of God’s timing when you’re waiting on a miracle. When we think we know the right time, we often try to accomplish the promise in our own strength, but when God calls you to walk forward, you can be sure that He is with you, even if it looks like the timing is bad. When God says it’s time, you will have all of heaven backing you.

Adversity can make you feel you should back off or stop pursuing the promise. Spiritually discern if it’s God redirecting you to another path or if it’s an indication that you’re moving toward your miracle. When hell tries to stop you and get you to back off, it may indicate that you need to start moving forward! Adversity is an opportunity to anchor into God’s word and stand on the promise you’ve received. The harsher the waves–or the more it looks like it won’t happen– the deeper you must look to faith and His Word to ground you.

Sometimes you may feel out of control in the middle of your miracle. Take that as an opportunity to lean into God. Even when you can’t see what He is doing, trust His plan and choose faith over anything else happening. Have confidence in the middle of the mess.

God is actively watching over the word He’s spoken over you. He is working all things together in the middle of your mess to see miracle after miracle break forth in your life.

Decree today that on the pathway to your promise, you’re not taking the easy way out. Weather any storm, focus on God’s faithfulness, and when you can’t see what He’s doing, trust in who He is.
