Keeping The Drama Out

SHOW NOTES:
God has given you the power to walk in freedom from any drama that tries to work its way into your life.
That drama that tries to sneak into certain elements of life– the areas left unguarded–can take the life God intends for you, full of peace and joy, and replace it with constant chaos. Keeping the drama out takes vigilance and effort; whether it feels like it or not, drama is not out of your control. Drama is less about the situations or people causing the drama and more about how you choose to position yourself toward it. So choose to disengage with the drama!
As a child of God, nothing has permission to come into your life unless you allow it or give it access. Want to shut out the drama? Take responsibility for your actions and your emotions! We have to accept there may be aspects of our own emotions that play into the drama. When we are emotionally led Christians, there is a high level of confusion surrounding us. Our emotions love to run the show, but we are called to be spirit-led!
As a spirit-led being, you bring the emotions under the authority of Jesus Christ; don’t let emotions take control of you. As you become stronger in the spirit, you will learn to keep emotions under control, maintain composure, and tame and crucify the flesh.
Have you ever stopped to reflect on how your relationship with God changes the way you treat those around you? When you can genuinely operate in the love of God toward the people He has put in your life it extinguishes drama. Drama does not bring about the right fruit, and a lot of drama can be eliminated just by beginning to operate in the spirit, being a woman who sets her mind on whatever is true (Philippians 4: 4-9).
Friend, be an atmosphere shifter–don’t just react…respond. That means taking time to pray and figure out the honorable, right thing to do in any given situation. You have to come to a point where you make the decision– are you going to allow the drama to remain and stunt your growth or are you going to make decisions that propel you closer to the plans God has for your life? I think we all would choose the latter and walk in our new nature!
Drama–we either feed it or starve it–whatever you feed will grow, and whatever you starve will die. You are in charge of you. You have authority over your life! The blessings of God will be too abundant to count when you reestablish a drama-free life and work with Him on keeping the drama out.
