SHOW NOTES:

Has anyone ever told you something you didn’t know, but in hindsight, you wish you would have known sooner? To grow in God, mature in our relationship with Christ, and produce fruit in every season, we must be open to hearing what Holy Spirit is trying to tell us–what we need to know, but don’t know!

When it comes to what we don’t know but need to know, it’s not usually a knowledge problem…it’s a doing problem. Feeling overwhelmed and stuck can lead us to remain stationary. Many areas can stop us from growing up in the things of God and hinder the fruit we produce for His Kingdom. Sometimes what we are up against is an outside force, while other times the battle wages from within.

The first area Holy Spirit is trying to tell you about that you need to know but don’t know might be in your own head. Be intentional to think about what you’re thinking about. You’re either conforming to the world or renewing your mind. If we aren’t careful, we can allow thoughts to create mindsets contrary to God’s Word. Limiting mindsets, whether that be from people, anxiety, or our thoughts, put boundaries on our faith. If you don’t take thoughts captive and measure them against God’s Word, your growth will be stunted. Uproot any thoughts contrary to the Word, believe He is who He says He is and you are who He says you are, and don’t let roadblocks hinder what God is trying to produce.

The second area Holy Spirit is trying to tell you about that you need to know but don’t know might be in your heart. Perhaps you’re frustrated because you don’t feel like you’re growing or nothing feels like it’s going right. Holy Spirit is telling you…something you don’t know that you need to know is you need a heart check! Every time we are called to a new level of maturity, a responsibility comes with it. What you don’t deal with will block your growth. Heart issues aren’t one-and-done. Holy Spirit wants you to be the best version of yourself, but He isn’t asking us to change ourselves in our strength alone. Instead, He wants us to work with Him through His grace which will lead to transformation.

The third area Holy Spirit is trying to tell you about that you need to know but don’t know might be that you have a problem with what is in your hand. Faithfulness produces fruitfulness…maybe you aren’t fruitful because you aren’t happy with what God has given you to work with. God doesn’t call us to do everything, but He calls us to do something. Honor the call He has placed on your life. Don’t belittle or compare it to someone else’s calling. When you start walking in the calling, the Lord rejoices in it. His purpose in your calling is enough. While it might be small, it’s not insignificant, and God is asking you to be obedient to the call and steward the small things well because everything with God is significant.

God will take you places you never thought possible just by your obedience. Don’t despise the day of small beginnings; don’t wait until you feel qualified. The simple faith it took to commit your life to Jesus Christ is the same one needed to walk in the plans He has for you.  If you’re rooted in, drawing nutrients from Him, and activating the faith you already have, you will have victory abiding in every and all seasons. Grow, get out of your head, let the Lord work on your heart, and yield to Him what is in your hand. When you do, you can be sure the inward work God does in you will manifest outward fruit.
